Mariesa tore her right ACL in 2021 and then her left ACL in 2022 playing soccer. The “unknowns” and “firsts” of recovery from surgery are challenging. With her unfortunate second injury, Mariesa totally knew she could do the rehab and what it would take. Her dedication now has her back playing the game she loves!
Mariesa says: “Coming to Peak has been a part of my life for two years. They focused on me being an athlete rather than a patient and knew exactly what I needed to get back to my sport. Mike went above and beyond and took the time to make sure I was ready to play. I am now confident and know how to keep my knees strong in order to play soccer a the level I was prior to my injury.”
Mike says: “Mariesa may not be the biggest ACL reconstruction patient I’ve worked with over the years but she has the heart of a lion and giant sized determination. It’s no easy task to go through one ACL surgery but she’s conquered it twice…knowing it’d be 7-9+ months before getting back to play. She had the maturity to see her goal down the road and stick with it. Laser focused and gritty. So glad to see you back on the field Mariesa – Congrats!”
Mariesa chose the Bethany House as her charity. A $50 donation has been made to the Bethany House in honor of Mariesa’s accomplishments here at Peak!
Way to go Mariesa!!
