Allison Pulvino graduated 13 years ago from D’Youville College in Buffalo NY and throughout her career she has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics. With over a decade of valuable experience built via Rochester General Hospital and Sports PT of NY, she has extensive knowledge in the evaluation and treatment of the spine, post-operative recovery, sacroiliac joint pain, and sports-related injuries.
Priding herself as a lifelong learner, Allison has attended numerous orthopedic related continued education conferences and courses to advance her knowledge base and skill level. Most recently Allison is completing her certification in Applied Functional Science® (CAFS) from the world’s leader in testing, treating and training based on in-depth understanding the biomechanics of function.
Allison also is a Certified Mulligan Practitioner, using specialized hands-on (also called “manual therapy”) techniques to resolve pain and restore normal movement and function, and also is trained in Graston®, an instrument based soft tissue technique treating muscle and connective tissue problems. She is a certified Excellus Community Spine Pathways practitioner. Allison routinely attends new trainings to broaden her skills, such as Muscle Energy mobilization technique, along with the newest industry advancements and staying atop the latest research related to sports medicine and orthopedics.
Allison is currently the primary Physical Therapist specialist at the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center, and attends and assesses patients monthly to help return these patients to function again. She proudly had the opportunity to go to the World Federation of Hemophilia Conference in 2016 and brought back extensive knowledge from globally recognized industry-leading professionals.
Allison has been very active in the community throughout her career, leading repeated and ongoing clinical discussions at Fleet Feet Sports, a Women’s Hemophilia Weekend Retreat and similar ongoing community education courses for the public.
