Developing the ability to accelerate and decelerate is a key part of full recovery for lots of different people, usually in athletics but even for certain work or day to day activities.
When we first opened and saw the beauty of this large open wall one of the first things that came to mind was the unique ability we’d have at throwing Medicine Balls against the wall. Our landlord had a custom platform made for the wall to protect the underlying masonry while providing a strong, durable surface for our patients to slam balls against the wall for explosive movement training and plyometric drills designed to restore athletic abilities to accelerate and decelerate. Without the wall many drills just can’t be done in a traditional clinic environment or would pose safety issues or just limitations in training intensity because the only alternative is training with another human! Not here. Slam away…
