Class IV Laser

“Game Changers!”

Everyone’s looking for “game changers” right? For that good decision or a find that really makes a big difference. Are you wondering if Class IV laser might be that game changer for you?

Are you looking for natural solutions to pain and inflammation and to promote healing? Maybe you don’t love the idea of using medications more than you absolutely need to. Some are concerned about all the man-made chemicals being put into their bodies. Some the side effects…others the interaction with other medications they’re already on or affecting a medical condition they’re dealing with. Maybe you’ve tried all the various means available out there to help with pain and inflammation and they’re just not working well. For others, it’s really just a leaning toward holistic, natural means.

NSAID’s, pain killers, injections, hot packs, ice, wraps, copper bracelets, TENS units, nutraceuticals, patches…the list of things people try to reduce pain and inflammation is seemingly endless. And no doubt, they each have worked for different people and can be helpful and effective. But whether it be costs, the limited focus on blocking or masking symptoms vs actually making true changes in tissues, or the risks/side effects involved, the fact is that so many people are looking for an alternative way to relieve pain and inflammation.

The truth is that there is no singular treatment that works for everyone all the time. There honestly just isn’t. And anyone who promises that either doesn’t know the literature/evidence, has been taught falsehoods by another professional or maybe even the internet, or is being less than honest with you. But the real question should be “Are there natural” alternatives that can be effective, not ridiculously expensive (have you ever added up what those prescription med’s cost month after month…or the price of that 1st injection, or all those supplements you take and gadgets you’ve bought hoping they’d cure your pain and inflammation?), and have low risks that I can try, and that have been powerfully effective?

But that’s where our Class IV laser comes in! It is one of our “game changers” at Peak.

Peak Performance PT is proud to offer the Rochester community of athletes and non-athletes alike the chance to have this advanced revolutionary light therapy technology , Class IV Laser, as a great option to help reduce pain and inflammation along with promoting healing of injured tissues. A unique, innovative technology, that has been effective for the majority of patients we’ve used it with and is something that most PT clinics aren’t presently able to or choosing to make available.

We began using our laser back in December 2019. It’s been awesome seeing so many patients find our Class IV Laser a valuable help to them in their quest to get back to feeling confident again…to being capable and comfortable doing what they missed doing….what they love!

What is laser you ask?

Light functions on the electromagnetic spectrum. It stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Our Class IV specifically functions in the near-infrared spectrum. Biophotomodulation is the effect produced by the laser and includes a wide array of (+) effects that promote pain and inflammation reduction as well as stimulating healing at a cellular and biologic/biochemical level. It gets pretty complex! There’s decades of research behind this advanced technology. Putting all these things down on paper would get pretty long and cumbersome to read through unless you’re the science/medicine geek type who also has a strong academic background in those areas. I’ve got a better way to introduce you to the laser…

Skeptical? Good, perfect! We love when people are discerning and work to ensure that there’s good evidence behind what they’re paying for. If you’re searching the internet just be careful to not fall into the trap of overgeneralizing. Our LiteForce laser is a 25 watt unit. Many of the studies from years past that show suspect results are older type units that are using 0.5 watts or 5 watts. The good news is that HILT (high intensity laser therapy) has been shown in many studies to produce good measurable improvements with pain reduction, range of motion, and function ratings/ability along with countless positive findings in labs demonstrating its anti-inflammatory and healing promotion properties.

Could it all just be a placebo effect? Well, take a look at this VIDEO of a limping penguin before and after a laser treatment – here’s! Do you really think this penguin is suffering from a placebo effect? No way, right!

The even better evidence for us is the lives changed. The first really heart-tugging, powerful, and unforgettable stories for me personally was even before I’d ever bought or even felt what the laser was like myself. A PT at a conference I was attending was telling a story about his own wife. She’d had foot pain for years and unfortunately not had good success with all sorts of different treatments so she continued to suffer. She had a laser demo at the conference but was certain that like everything else she’d tried that it would be a waste of time. She was unimpressed immediately and even later that same day, validating her pessimism and continued hopelessness she thought. But the next morning while walking on the beach the husband turned to see his wife crying as they strolled along the water’s edge. He asked what was wrong and she said it was the first time in years that she’d been able to walk with him without foot pain. She knew it was the laser’s effect from the day before.

And now, having used the Class IV Laser ourselves since 2019 we’ve got our own stories of life change right here at Peak Performance too! Here’s just a few of them….
